These prestigious fellowships are selectively awarded to students who have co-authored accepted papers, offering a generous sum to defray the expenses associated with attending RECOMB, including registration, travel, and lodging. The status of travel fellowships for RECOMB 2026 will be announced after the author notification deadline, 16 January 2026.

Q. “I have a poster presentation. Can I apply for a travel award?”
- Travel awards are prioritized for students presenting their RECOMB 2026 papers at the conference. Unfortunately, due to limited funds, we do not have the opportunity to support poster presenters.
Q. “What does the fellowship cover?”
- The fellowships cover conference registration (early registration student rate), travel, and lodging. Any incidentals (food, taxi, phone charges, parking, tips, etc.) and expenditures exceeding the fellowship amount will not be covered.
Q. “I am traveling from CityC and flying to CityD after the conference. Is this OK?”
- The travel award will fund flights to and from your hometown only. We cannot provide reimbursements for extended itineraries.
Q. “I forgot to register early for the conference. Is this OK?”
- We will only cover early student registration rates. Students will be responsible for the difference. Please register early.
Q. “I am not the first author but presenting the paper on behalf of my co-authors. Is this OK?”
- Yes.
Q. “When will I receive my funds?”
- You will fill out a reimbursement form after the conference. The Fellowship Chairs will communicate with you about the procedure.
Q. “How will I receive my funds?”
- A check will be mailed to the address you provided.
