RECOMB 2022
The 26th Annual International Conference on Research in Computational Molecular Biology
La Jolla, USA, May 22-25, 2022
Airport Directions
Here is general information on ground transportation from the San Diego International Airport. Please check with your hotel as well.
Taxis, ride-share, airport shuttle companies, car rental shuttles, city buses, and a shuttle to the trolley are available at both airport terminals. Taxi/ride-share/driving from the airport to the recommended hotels is about 20-30 minutes, while the trolley is about 50-75 minutes. The Marriott is near a trolley stop, while the other hotels require longer walks.
Connecting to the trolley from the airport:
- Google Maps includes routes and timetables for buses and trolleys.
- Buy a PRONTO fare card (for trolley & bus) at the airport or at the trolley station, or install their mobile app. Tap/scan it on a validator machine at each trolley platform before boarding, and on each bus upon boarding.
- Look for the San Diego Flyer signs in the ground transportation area. Ask an attendant if you need help finding it.
- Take the San Diego Flyer (free shuttle) to Old Town Transit Center and take the UC San Diego Blue Line Trolley towards UTC.
- See this airport bus stop map and this diagram of Old Town Transit Center.
Selected UC San Diego Blue Line trolley stops:
- Old Town Transit Center: Preferred trolley station for the airport. Connects to airport via the San Diego Flyer shuttle.
- Santa Fe Depot: Alternate trolley station for the airport if necessary, but farther from the conference and costs more. Connects to airport via bus 992.
- Nobel Drive Station: Shopping center near Sheraton, Residence Inn, and Hyatt Regency
- UC San Diego Central Campus Station: Satellite conferences
- Executive Drive Station: Marriott (RECOMB 2022 location) and Embassy Suites
- UTC Transit Center: Westfield UTC Shopping Mall, near the Marriott. End of the blue line.
