Use Google Maps for directions from your location. It includes the trolley and bus routes and timetables. (But see here for trolley directions from the airport.)
Buy a PRONTO fare card (for trolley & bus) at the airport or at the trolley station, or install their mobile app. Tap/scan it on a validator machine at each trolley platform before boarding, and on each bus upon boarding. Buses also accept cash (exact change).
- Take the trolley (UC San Diego Blue Line) to the Executive Drive Station.
- Or take bus routes 30 or 41 for the following stops:
- Genesee Ave. & La Jolla Village Dr.
- Or Regents Rd & La Jolla Village Dr.
Public Parking
Parking at the conference venue (San Diego Marriott La Jolla) is $6/hour or $36/day for self-parking, and $48/day for valet. No in and out privileges.
NEW: Discounted self-parking, $8/day (no in and out privileges). Ask at the registration desk before 3pm.
Other parking options:
There is limited free street parking on La Jolla Village Dr. and on Executive Dr. (east of Genesee). Be attentive to parking restrictions such as “2 hours.“
At the Westfield UTC shopping mall across the street (10 minute walk), parking is charged by the hour and is capped at $15/day for 9 hours+. No in and out privileges.
See below for a $4/day parking lot at UC San Diego (12 minute walk).
Do not park at the Costa Verde shopping mall; it’s free for shoppers, but they will tow if they see drivers leave the premises. Also, most of the Costa Verde Mall is closed for construction.
Parking at UC San Diego
Enter UCSD at one of these locations:
- On Regents Rd, enter at Health Sciences Dr., turn right at Voigt Dr., and right at Lot P704.
- Or on Genesee Ave, enter at Campus Point Dr. and turn left on Voigt Dr.
Regents Road West Lot (surface parking lots):
- Google Maps: “Regents Road West Lot, La Jolla, CA”
- Try Parking Lot P704 first. If it’s full, try adjacent lots P703 and P705.
- Approx. 12 minute walk to the hotel.
- Discount parking (“D” spots), flat rate $4/day, including UCSD personnel and visitors.
- Pay at the pay station next to the bus stop, or by using the ParkMobile app on your phone. For ParkMobile, check signs for the Parking Zone code (4762).
- For walking directions to the hotel, use “La Jolla Marriott” in Google Maps.
- Walk south along Regents Rd.
- Cross the street at the traffic light at Miramar St / Regents Park Row.
- Walk past Starbucks along Regents Park Row and you’ll find the Marriott.
- Parking Lot P782: A, B, or S permits. Approx. 8 minute walk.
- Nuevo West (VELA) Parking Structure / Lot P783: B or G permits. Approx. 12 minute walk.
- Do not park at grad student housing, La Jolla Institute for Immunology, etc. unless you have the additional permit endorsements required for those
